The kids learned about the worlds of robotics and programming. We used Sphero and Ollie robots, and an activity the kids highly enjoyed was having the robots traverse a predetermined obstacle course. We worked with 16 kids each week, separating them into groups of 4, with 2 high-school volunteers per group. We taught them how to program robots using block tools similar to those in the “Scratch” program.
Special thanks to the volunteers who came all the way from VISST!

Special thanks to Prof. Momose and the ALPHA group at UBC who provided us with this incredible opportunity to learn about anti-matter, laser spectroscopy, particle accelerators, and the applications of anti-matter in the medical field.
Thank you to Blumer Paige and the HIVE team at UBC who allowed us to explore medical illustration through virtual reality. We were able to explore anatomy through the means of a VR HoloLens and learn how the UBC labs were accessed during COVID-19.
